Shine Bright School

I’ve always harbored intense feelings of stress, resistance, discomfort, and avoidance when it comes to money and money management. I always thought saving was better than spending, no matter what. This class with Monique was a truly eye opening experience, and it helped shift the internalized narrative I’ve held for years around money from one of basing my worth off my utility and ability to produce/be productive to one where I recognize that accumulating and sitting on money, keeping it out of fear of needing it in a hypothetical future situation, is a violent form of upholding systems of oppression and white supremacy. But instead of being afraid that I wouldn’t know how to change my habits and beliefs, this class made me feel optimistic that I actually COULD make these massive changes in my life and spending habits and that the power of people, connection, and community is always stronger than the Vice grip that money has on so many of us. I’ve taken several classes at the Shine Bright School and with Monique, and I can’t stress enough how amazing these courses and lessons are. They all build on each other and intersect, making each class that much richer, more interesting, inspiring and motivating than the last. I HIGHLY recommend signing up for this class in ADDITION to at LEAST 1-2 more courses because my life has become so much more fulfilling because of them.
