Wow. Thank you for this Monique. This class was just what I needed to challenge my current way of seeing myself and others. You have given me so many things to continue thinking about and working towards! The idea that we expect perfection from everyone, but absolutely nobody can achieve these high standards is my main takeaway. Also realizing how pervasive we have allowed perfectionism to become in our society - it's in every aspect of life and is so harmful to our well-being!

Oh man, I loved it! I learned that perfectionism is rooted in white supremacy and it keeps us in discontentment and always needing more and is used to justify the oppression of Black people. And we need to lean into UNITY over comfort. Being okay with being new at something, and pursuing being HUMAN. And it created compassion and connection when we can lean into being OKAY with not being perfect. She is such a good teacher and I can't wait for more classes!!
