This class engages learners in how to embed anti-racism in their personal lives by unpacking and processing the common “white feelings” that arise while engaging in the work of anti-racism.

Thank you, Monique, for this class. It reiterated the importance of naming a feeling, so as to uncover the beliefs it may support. Once you've uncovered your beliefs, you can then uproot white supremacist patterns of thinking (even if unintentional) and replace them with beliefs that support the liberation of Black people. Secondly, it's important to remind yourself that anti-racism work won't get done fast - it's a long-term process. You also can't be talking to every person with racist beliefs, even if it feels urgent to get everyone on board (I speak from personal experience a few years ago, when I didn't know about burnout). Don't give up on this work, but also pace yourself.

As I write and rewrite sentences for this review trying to find the "perfect" way, I realize even more how this class was necessary for me. Monique dissected in an easy and tangible way all different ways perfectionism shows up in life and harms us and those around us.
