Read MoreThank you, Monique, for this class. It reiterated the importance of naming a feeling, so as to uncover the beliefs it may support. Once you've uncovered your beliefs, you can then uproot white supremacist patterns of thinking (even if unintentional) and replace them with beliefs that support the liberation of Black people. Secondly, it's important to remind yourself that anti-racism work won't get done fast - it's a long-term process. You also can't be talking to every person with racist beliefs, even if it feels urgent to get everyone on board (I speak from personal experience a few years ago, when I didn't know about burnout). Don't give up on this work, but also pace yourself.
